I congratulated you after the service and shared with you the same words a venerable nun shared with me after my baptism, “Don’t lose that grace!” And with a bright and shining face you told me in earnest, “I’ll try not to!” But now on the anniversary of your baptism, I tell you now not simply to “not lose it” but to multiply the grace you received:

Extend the holiness which thou hast received... make the righteousness which comes from the laver brighter, and the gift of grace more radiant; even as therefore Paul did, increasing all the good things which he received by his subsequent labours, and his zeal, and his diligence.
